What Services does Miss Boon Provide?

As the school counselor, I provide a wide range of services for students. I work one-on-one with students, have small groups where specific topics and skills are worked on, as well as going into classrooms to do whole class lessons on specific topics. A school counselor works with ALL students to encourage a safe school climate of trust and respect. The school counselor meets with students to do brief, solution-focused counseling. School counselors do not do long-term mental health counseling/therapy. If your child needs extra support, Miss Boon can assist you in the referral process for outside counseling services. Along with individual, group and classroom counseling, the school counselor also does crisis intervention and provides resources to parents and teachers.  
I also serve as the 504 Coordinator as well as a member of the PBIS team. 
It is my goal as the school counselor to work with all students, staff, parents, and community members to ensure the success of each and every student at South Ridge. My roles and responsibilities cover a wide range of needs and I am here to help you in whatever way I can!
